Deputy Director of Public Prosecutions

$424,850 per annum plus Conveyance Allowance of $22,445 per annum

 

 

The Attorney General is seeking applications from qualified persons for appointment as a Deputy Director of Public Prosecutions under the Director of Public Prosecutions Act 1986 for a fixed term that may be renewed.

 

The role of Deputy Director of Public Prosecutions is to provide advice to the Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP); appear in the High Court and the Supreme Court on more complex and sensitive appeals; review recommendations by and direct Crown Prosecutors and lawyers of the Office of the DPP (ODPP) on various matters; assist in the management of the ODPP; contribute to the professional development of ODPP Legal Staff; and perform the functions of the DPP as delegated.

 

Applicants must be Australian lawyers of at least five years’ standing. The online role description contains key skills and experience that must be addressed in the online application
